THE CHERNOBYL DISASTER
In the early morning of April 26th, 1986, reactor four of the Chernobyl nuclear station exploded and caused what the United Nations has called ‘the greatest environmental catastrophe in the history of humanity.’
The amount of radiation released was approximately 400 times higher than the combined radiation releases of the atom bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
Today, thousands of children are still suffering from the effects of the disaster: cancers, neurological problems and hereditary diseases have become all too common.
That is why we need your support.
