A very enjoyable dinner/dance was held at Foalks Hall raising £2,158 Many thanks to June and Phil Milne, Mr and Mrs Burr and the group Skyliners who were brilliant and had everyone dancing. Delicious catering by Walkers, thank you.
The following week another dinner/dance held this time at The Hilton, Watford raising money for a new van (total not available at time of print) for Felsted Aid by the Rotary Club of Northwick Park attended by His Excellancey The Ambassador of Ukraine and the District Governor of The Rotary. Many thanks to Helen Antonio and Dick and June Nathan for all their hard work for another successful and enjoyable evening.
Dr P came over from Ukraine for a few days. Thank you Liz and Garry Paxton from The Orchards for hosting a coffee morning for friends and supporters to say hello to him. Whilst here Dr P attended a meeting with the Dean, Vice Chancellor and members of the Post Graduate Medical Institute at The Anglian Ruskin University in Chelmsford organised by the Chaplain Reverend Tony Cant. After a talk and presentation given by Dr P on his work at the "Revival" centre the university is looking to support him and to apply to the EU for funding for" Telemed" for the centre so that they can co-oberate in the diagnosis and treatment of very sick children. This system is now used across the world for doctors and surgeons so all can be present at operations and consultations. The university is also wanting to send students out to Ukraine in 2013 as volunteers to the centre. After the meeting we were priveleged to be given a tour of the University by the Dean and senior officials, They have world leading facilities in the medical field especially in the nursing and midwifery sector and will the first to be able to operate by robot.
Dr P had a meeting and tour of Harlowfields in Harlow arranged by reflexologist Lorraine Senior. This specialist school works very similar to the "Revival" centre and it was interesting for Dr P to see their facilities especially the hydrotherapy pool!
In leisure time Dr P saw some of the sights of London and had a tour of Birmingham University by Pauline's granddaughter who is studying Russian there.
We are always looking for ways of raising money to carry on the work of the Charity. At the Olympics we are doing domestic cleaning for a week. There are ten of us and all wages will be donated to Felsted Aid.
We are off on holiday now for a rest out of the rain and into the sun of Lanzorote.
Thank you all for your support, we cannot do it without you.
